WHAT IS A ZINE?
A zine is a self-published collection of artworks and writing! Their focus can range from informational to a collective love letter to the zine's theme. Just like ours!
WHAT IS THE THEME?
As described on our home page, the theme for ENGRAVERS is "History & Rumors" in the world of Re:Zero!We've left the theme vague enough so as to give as much freedom as we could to our participants. Your piece may depict this theme in a number of ways: focusing on the heroes, the villains or on a historic battle. If you're a fan of more niche characters, then you could adopt the "people not written down in history" approach. Furthermore, you could even try to portray the difference between how a character is known by the world at large and who they really are.
HOW MANY PARTICIPANTS ARE YOU GOING TO ACCEPT?
We are planning to take at least 20-25 artists and 12-15 writers! The numbers may change based on the amount of applications!
HOW DO I PARTICIPATE IN THE ZINE?
First, fill out our application form (not open yet)! We'll need your contact information, examples of your work and a rough idea for your pitch!Your pitch is your idea of what you're going to contribute to the zine — at this stage, it doesn't have to be too detailed! Right now we would like to know what characters you want to draw/write about!After contributor applications end, we are going to be choosing our participants, and sending them an invitation to our discord server — make sure to check your messages! Further instructions will be provided there.
WHAT ARE THE ZINE SPECIFICATIONS?
Our zine is entirely free and digital-only, meaning that after it's done, everybody can get access to it!We will follow canon age rating, meaning that the contents of the zine will be PG-13: intense violence and partial nudity are allowed!
WHO IS ALLOWED TO APPLY?
Anyone, as long as they are 15 or older!
AM I ALLOWED TO APPLY FOR MULTIPLE ROLES?
Definitely! Simply make sure that you are able to handle the workload!
IS PREVIOUS ZINE EXPERIENCE A REQUIREMENT?
It is not! Beginners and veterans are both welcomed!
HOW MANY PIECES AM I ALLOWED TO CONTRIBUTE?
Artists may contribute up to two pieces (one original, and one illustrating a fic), while writers may provide one piece (be it prose, poetry or analysis).
